We are gearing ourselves up for another vintage. The staff are well rested after Christmas and are preparing the equipment for the next 3 months of hard work.

The harvester has been cleaned, greased and is now ready for action! During the harvest period many hoses need to be manoeuvred to ensure the tanks are cleaned and ready to be filled.

We have bright blue skies with hot days ahead and our preparation is on target for a exceptional 2016 vintage!

Faustine out collecting samples

Our winery staff are always busy obtaining samples especially for the UK market.
Our winery staff are always busy obtaining samples especially for the UK market. Here, Faustine goes around with her little blue wagon collecting the samples from various tanks, brings them back to the tasting room and with the other winemakers makes up the blends. Our intention is to always provide the best blends that will suit the fastidious English wine consumer. Due to the high volume of wine shipped to the UK this keeps us very busy!

Wednesday 30th of September at Government House the Governor of Victoria, the  Honourable Linda Dessau AM presented the award to Calum Peace from Andrew Peace Wines. The Governor of Victoria Export Awards (GOVEA) is one of the most prestigious business awards in Victoria. Rewarding Victoria’s most successful and innovative exporters with the stamp of international success.

It is with thanks and gratitude that the winery has been selected as the winner of this prestigious award. Many years of hard work has seen the expansion of wine sales during some very hard and tiresome times.

Exporting wine is not just a competition between Australian wineries, it is also the world stage at play. So it is very important that our wines and collectively Australian wines shine so brightly upon that stage. The winery is very much buoyed by this award as it represents the hard work put in by the family, all staff in the winery, vineyard and sales.

This winter a new variety is planted; Zwiegelt!

It's winter time at the winery so the place is in hibernation mode, however there is always something going on!
It's winter time at the winery so the place is in hibernation mode, however there is always something going on! We have planted a new red grape variety called Zwiegelt. This variety is notably from Austria and is widely grown there.

The variety is known for its grace and freshness with an exotic spice and floral characters. We hope to replicate these same qualities when it will be ready for harvesting.

It all begins in winter......

New Years Eve Visitors!

We had some lovely visitors from Yorkshire on New Years eve, and we would like to share their experience with you, as well as our appreciation for their wonderful comments, thanks Chris and Marilyn, we hope to see you again soon!

"Marilyn and I would like to say a huge thank you to Calum for taking the time to escort us around the winery on New Year's Eve afternoon. It was one of the highlights of our Australia visit and made our trip just that little bit more memorable.

All the notes and photos that we took will come in handy for our lecture about the trip. Not only was the visit around the winery brilliant, but the wines were something very special too and completely unexpected. Thank you so much, but sadly none of them made it back to the UK.

We just felt that they should be enjoyed in the heat of the Australian outback. However, they did last us until the last day before flying home. There was some very special wine there and that was appreciated.

What did make it back home were the two sample glasses, thanks to Lynley's careful packaging, and they will always remind us of a fantastic visit. Now that I've sorted through thousands of photos, I have attached most of the ones that we shot at the winery.

Thanks again for making our trip special.

Kindest regards Chris and Marilyn"

Just like Chris and Marilyn you too are more than welcome to come and visit us at the winery, so what are you waiting for!!

It's Vintage Time Again!

It's vintage time again, it only comes around once a year and another one has begun with anticipation of what will be.

It's vintage time again, it only comes around once a year and another one has begun with anticipation of what will be. So far it has been very positive in the whites.

Our picture shows a small bunch of Chardonnay grapes going through the crushing and pressing process and what finally remains, the Marc.

Along the way there is the bystanders; Rick and Chris who are checking on the press progress. There is Jack who is greasing the appropriate nipples on the crusher, while Beata is shovelling up the mess that occurs frequently. But wait, there is Allan who always maintains a vigilant eye on proceedings.

After 8 vintages this will be Allan's last vintage as he and Michelle will be selling up their farm and moving closer to their children and grandchildren. We would like to thank Allan for his consistent hard work, we will all miss you!

The Summer Way of Life at the Winery!

We had a lovely Christmas and start to the New Year here, hope you all did also!!
We had a lovely Christmas and start to the New Year here, hope you all did also!! The attached picture is a glimpse into the summer way of life at the winery. There is a bevy of knees showing, with some of these knees needing a bit of colour? These were all taken on the same day and everybody in the winery was in shorts preparing for the upcoming summer. This week everyday has been over 40 degrees Celsius so the staff understand the need to drink lots of water to stay hydrated in such high temperatures. This is not to rub it in, because you guys may be a little on the colder side at this time of year and a little frosty because of the Ashes whitewash (may match the snow out your window) dished out to your cricket team! Vintage is due to begin at the end of January with Chardonnay being harvested first. Embrace the new year along with all the possibilities it can bring and remember to be enthusiastic!
