We are expanding again!

This month is building month in the winery. We are expanding again and concrete has to be poured to prepare for more tanks. This month is building month in the winery. We are expanding again and concrete has to be poured to prepare for more tanks.

This is in response to you guys drinking more and demanding more and we are, of course, happy to oblige! There will be 28 more tanks, each with a capacity of 275,000 litres, bringing us to a capacity of 31,500,000 litres. We’re also adding a new crushing pit, a new press and extending the weighbridge.

We had a few days of electricity issues recently – basically, we didn't have any! The power company arrived to upgrade a fuse at the main power pole so we wouldn't get as many blackouts.

When it came time to pull the switch, the circuit breaker played up. There was no ready and available part in the whole of Australia to replace the broken one. We had no power. So the power company hot-footed a portable generator to run the whole winery. It was little bigger than a camping generator that would power a couple of lights. We’ve now received a V12 diesel powered generator rated at 1000KVA - we're talking serious power! Luckily, we have been reinstated to the main electricity grid.

We had some visitors to the winery to check out all the building work. Normally our visitors drive or come by foot but these flew in. We were all hard at work when two native Australian welcome swallows arrived, had a bit of a fly around the tanks and settled on the railing to preen themselves. Beautiful.
